Under the Sea Baby Shower Cupcakes

Here are the cupcakes from an "Under the Sea" themed baby shower I prepared this last weekend. When I was asked to come up with something for this shower without knowing what any of the other decorations were going to look like, I knew it was going to be a challenge. But in talking with the customer, I was confident that she would love my idea - cute, round baby sea animals (fishies, starfish, and octopi) and "underwater accessories" like bubbles and seaweed, in bright pastel colors. It was an order of 5 dozen cupcakes, and the flavors she chose were red velvet, lemon, cookies n cream, and guava - and all were a hit:) Ok, enough talking, on to the pictures!

Busy Busy Busy

So I've been quite the busy bee lately! I've been averaging about one or two orders a week for the past month or more...I know it doesn't seem like a lot but I feel like I'm eather baking or working on fondant just about every day! Especially because some of the orders have been a little more detailed. For example, I am very proud of this order I did for a Bumblebee Baby Shower:

This was at least 3 days worth of work - I made the little yellow bee bodies (haha, that sounds funny) and wings first, then waited two days for them to fully dry before I painted on their black stripes & eyes with edible marker, then glued the wings onto the bee with white frosting gel. With the rest of the fondant I made hives, and the BABY BOY letters. I also used alternating yellow and black/white polka dot cupcake liners to match:)

Here is another baby shower I did for a little girl - the theme was Babies, Bows, and Bibs, and the colors were brown, pink, and white. The mom gave me creative license to do whatever I thought was cutest, as long as I made the baby girls with bows that she had seen from another baby shower I had done (see previous post):

I've also been busy with graduation and Mother's Day cupcakes, which you can see pictures of on my Flickr:)

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

I had another cupcake order for a baby shower this afternoon, and the theme was "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". I was really excited when I first got the order, because I had never done a theme like this before. Immediately I knew I wanted to use my edible glitter, and thankfully I already had glitter in blue, yellow, and silver, so that was perfect! So I cut stars out in blue and yellow fondant, with alternating blue and yellow circles, then I spelled out the baby's name in the same colors. I also used blue, yellow, and silver liners (for the red velvet and chocolate cupcakes), and dyed the buttercream frosting blue and the cream cheese frosting yellow.
The customer really loved about how they came out, which always makes me so happy:) Here they are:

New Baby Shower cupcakes!

So I created some of - what I believe to be - the cutest baby shower designs I've done yet. We surprised my coworker Gema with a little office baby shower, and since I was contributing my famous red velvet cupcakes, I wanted to do something a little different with the decorations.
Everyone usually goes the traditional pastel route with baby shower colors, but instead I used hot pink polka dot cupcake liners, and used hot pink colored fondant to create flowers and little bows for some baby faces I created (with faces drawn on with black edible marker- everything I use is always edible!).

New Pricing!

Hi there!

I just wanted to make a post letting everyone know the pricing for Lollyland Bakery Cupcakes has changed a little bit:

Instead of $10 for one dozen cupcakes, it is now $12, with an additional $5 added for fondant decorations.
For 2 dozen cupcakes it is now $24, with an additional $10 added for fondant decorations.

So pretty much each cupcake is now $1, and there will be a $5 extra charge per dozen for decorative fondant.

As you can see, Lollyland Bakery still offers a great deal on exceptional quality baked goods!:)

If there are any questions, please feel free to comment or email me at Laura@lollylandbakery.com.

Thank you!

Easter continued

So I went in a little different direction with this last cupcake order for Easter I had. I wanted to be a little more creative, and do something more fun and colorful. So here's what I did:

I made rabbit ears and little carrots out of fondant, then dyed the frosting green and sprinkled orea crumbs to look like dirt (the cupcakes are cookies n cream, by the way).

I also dyed the buttercream frosting brown, and added Hershey's candy-coated chocolate eggs to some of them and viola - birds nests!

Here there all are, packed and ready to be delivered to their new home!

Here are some more pics, just to get a better idea:

So far I think these are my favorite out of all the other cupcakes I've done:) What do you think?
